The Cisco 3500 series switches are a line of scalable, stackable switches featuring both 10/100 and Gigabit Ethernet switch connectivity, and are perfect for mid-sized networks using IP telephony and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
The robust feature set of the Cisco 3500 series provide the user the ability to run advanced software applications, including complete 802.1Q and ISL VLAN support, TACACS+ security, and fault tolerance. These cost-effective Cisco switches feature simple management, robust elasticity, and administration of all switched ports from one IP address and provide interconnected switches with a high-speed stack to preserve valuable desktop ports.
The Cisco 3500 Series switches make use of the Cisco switch clustering technology and Gigastack GBIC’s. By using the Cisco switch cluster, Cisco network administrators are able to command and control over 380 ports, as well as unite up to 16 switches (no matter the physical location) with a staggering range of Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet media. Cisco switch clustering is available on all Cisco Catalyst 3550, 2950, 3500 XL, 2900 XL, and 2900 LRE XL switches.
